Dr. Paul Gibson, a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians of Canada (Paediatrics and Paediatric Haematology and Oncology), joined Children’s Hospital, London Health Science Centre and the Department of Paediatrics in 2010. He completed his Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Sub-specialty Residency at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, ON. Prior to that, he completed his Paediatric Residency at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital from July 2004- June 2007. He obtained his Medical Doctorate at the School of Medicine, Queen’s University, Kingston, ON. 2004.

Dr. Gibson is currently at the career rank of Assistant Professor and is working in the Section of Paediatric Haematology/Oncology. His clinical focus includes paediatric leukaemias, solid tumours and histiocyte disorders. His research interests include pharmacokinetic properties of chemotherapy agents; supportive care efforts in paediatric cancer care the role information technology in increasing patient safety and efficiency. He is currently a Physician Lead in the regional Healthcare Undergoing Optimization (HUGO) project, which aims to revolutionize the delivery of care in London and region through the use of state of the art evidence-based medicine driven Computerized Provider Order Entry.
Dr. Gibson is an active member in the Paediatric Oncology community. He holds active memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He furthermore participates in a variety of educational and research endeavours in association with the Paediatric Oncology Group of Ontario.
