32nd Update (H. H. Allen) Day
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, under the direction of Dr. Carol King and the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee, hosted the 32nd Annual Southwestern Ontario Obstetrics and Gynaecology Update Day (H. H. Allen Day). The annual academic event honours the legacy of Dr. Hugh H. Allen, whose leadership contributed to the department’s longstanding role in education and clinical excellence.

H. Allen Day). The annual academic event honours the legacy of Dr. Hugh H. Allen, whose leadership contributed to the department’s longstanding role in education and clinical excellence.
Dr. Carol King, Director of CME, PhD, opened and closed the program. Departmental faculty presented on topics including iron deficiency, recurrent pregnancy loss, and advances in HPV screening. Two interactive breakout sessions on Recurrent Pregnancy Loss and HPV Screening were offered in both morning and afternoon sessions.
Dr. Alicia Tuccinardi, PGY4, recipient of the W. P. Tew Award for Best Rounds, presented “Integrating Molecular Testing into Management Guidelines for Endometrial Cancer Care.” The award honours Dr. William Langford Tew for his lasting contributions to gynecologic oncology and surgical standards.
Keynote Speakers of the day were Dr. Sony Singh (University of Ottawa) on "Updates in Endometriosis Care" and Dr. Nan Okun (University of Toronto) on "Prenatal Screening in Ontario", presented in collaboration with BORN Ontario (Better Outcomes Registry & Network) and supported by OBGYN Dept's, Dr. Barbra de Vrijer.
“BORN Ontario is a provincial registry established in 2009 to collect and safeguard data related to pregnancy, birth, and early childhood in Ontario”, (Born, 2025).
