Choosing Wisely Canada is launching Students Advocating for Resource Stewardship (STARS) this fall. STARS is committed to fostering student leaders to launch local campaigns across Canada’s medical schools.
Through this program, students have the opportunity to participate in the Choosing Wisely Canada STARS Leadership Summit in Toronto on November 14, 2015 and will help to launch campaigns at their home school.
Pre-clerkship medical students are invited to submit applications. Two students will be selected from each school.
The Choosing Wisely Canada STARS Leadership Summit will be a one-day meeting taking place at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. The leadership summit will include inspiring talks by physician leaders and workshops on leadership, advocacy and communication skills. Your travel and two nights’ accommodation at a hotel will be paid for, as will meals on Saturday November 14.
How to Apply:
Submit your CV and a 250-word vision statement to STARS@choosingwiselycanada.org which addresses the following questions:
• What unique skills and experiences do you bring to the campaign?
