Be part of an exciting research environment at Sick Kids in Toronto this summer. A study focused on case reports in Anesthesiology is looking for medical students or residents who are interested in volunteering their time in exchange for authorship.
Project: Case Reports in Anesthesiology - Applying a Quality Assurance Lens
Case reports in anesthesia represent an important part of medical knowledge informing us of rare diseases, new equipment, unanticipated outcomes, innovative therapies, and important lessons. Understanding how case reports translate into guidelines that form clinical practice, however, is less clear.
The purpose of the study is to understand the impact of case reports by examining its inclusion in the most recent clinical practice guidelines commonly used in anesthesiology. Moreover, we will examine the quality of case reports incorporated into these consensus statements using the CARE guidelines.
