Attention Windsor meds: New research opportunities

The inaugural Schulich Medicine & Dentistry - Windsor Program and UWindsor Opportunities for Research Excellence Program (SWORP) has successfully launched this year.

The Windsor Program, in collaboration with the University of Windsor's Faculty of Science, Engineering and Human Kinetics, is offering 10 research opportunities for Year 1 and 2 Windsor Program students.

The aim of SWORP is to enrich undergraduate medical education by enabling students from the Windsor Program to conduct research under the supervision of a University of Windsor faculty member. The program is intended to foster an appreciation for and proficiency with the research process.

SWORP will provide funding for the students to undertake a research project. Projects may be in any area of biomedical, medical, or health-related research including basic, clinical, health services or education research.

Undergraduate medical students currently enrolled in their first or second year in the Windsor Program.

Award Amount: 10 awards in the amount of $5,000

Award Duration: In most cases, awards will be 18 months
