The UBC Medical Journal (UBCMJ) is currently accepting submissions for its September 2014 issue. The UBCMJ is an internationally recognized student-run academic journal with the goal of engaging students in a dialogue in medicine. Medical students and health professionals throughout Canada are encouraged to submit!
The UBCMJ provides an opportunity to:
• Publish a commentary, review or research in a peer-reviewed journal.
• Learn about the submission and review process.
• Stimulate dialogue on medical issues that matter to you.
• Enhance your resume (eg. for CaRMS applications).
Submission genres include Academic Research, Reviews, Commentaries, Global Health, and Case and Elective Reports. The UBCMJ publishes issues every March and September.
The submission deadline for the September 2014 issue is Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:59 pm. The journal accepts articles in all areas of medicine, including but not limited to research, reviews, case reports, medical history, ethics, medical anthropology, epidemiology, public health, medical education and international health. The theme of the next issue is The Future of Health Care, so submissions that detail the changing face of health care delivery, medical education, and medical ethics are particularly encouraged.
Articles do not have to be on theme and authors can submit any work they wish to have published. To encourage and recognize high quality writing, the UBCMJ Distinguished Writing Award (with a $250 honorarium) will be presented to the strongest article submitted for this issue!
