Resident teaching is integral to Undergraduate Medical Education (UME). The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry believes its residents should be given the tools to successfully navigate both the diverse learning styles and teaching modalities of today's academic environment.
To teach effectively, Residents require core information such as Program requirements, curriculum competencies, course and rotation objectives, and an overview of the Undergraduate Medical Education curriculum.
In the spirit of lifelong learning, Residents need to engage in professional development - both through continuing medical education related to their field and faculty development related to teaching and learning. Ongoing, continuous development of skills makes Residents stronger in both the classroom and the clinic.
