Curriculum

A four‑year, systems‑based program that combines foundational science, early patient contact, small‑group case learning and simulation across all clinical disciplines.

Competency-based Medical Education (CBME)

Progression is guided by Entrustable Professional Activities and regular formative feedback, ensuring learners meet clearly defined competencies before graduation.

Teaching hospitals

Core clinical training takes place at London Health Sciences Centre and St Joseph’s Health Care London, both tertiary–quaternary centres with comprehensive specialty services.

Distributed education

A regional network of community hospitals and clinics across Southwestern Ontario provides supervised clinical rotations outside the main teaching hospitals.

Visiting student electives

Students may select from more than fifty elective blocks, arranged through the AFMC Student Portal, to gain additional experience in specific specialties or settings.

Windsor campus

Delivers the identical Schulich MD curriculum in Windsor, Ontario, with teaching based at Windsor Regional Hospital and a dedicated cohort of local faculty.
