MEDICI attends the 10th anniversary of the WHO Global Initiative for Emergency and Essential Surgical Care (WHO GIEESC) at WHO headquarters
Drs. Martin & Cheng attended the 10th anniversary of the WHO Global Initiative for Emergency and Essential Surgical Care (WHO GIEESC) at WHO Headquarters. Dr. Cheng represented the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine and the Scientific Affairs Committee, World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Martin chaired the Working Group on Measurement & Evaluation of Global Surgical Indicators in Emergency and Essential Surgery and Anesthesia Care. The WHO GIEESC has over 2300 members from 140 countries, and convenes stakeholders with the purpose of sharing knowledge, support policy development, and create educational resources aimed at reducing the burden of death and disabilities that are amenable to surgery.
