MEDICI commissioned to develop guidelines on providing surgery and anesthesia services in the context of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa

The World Health Organization has requested the MEDICI Centre to lead the development of guidelines for providing safe surgery and anesthesia care during an Ebola Virus Disease outbreak. The purpose of the guidelines is to support and inform surgical teams on how to manage patients who may or may not be infected with the Ebola virus, including what levels of protection and what support services need to be available for surgical and perioperative healthcare teams as they provide surgical care in the context of Ebola.
