The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, at Western University is seeking applications for the position of Clinical Research Training Director. The Clinical Research Training Director will be responsible for the management of the clinical research training programs, mentoring and career development of the trainees in the programs at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. There are a number of research training programs for clinical trainees across Schulich including: MD-Ph.D, Dental Clinician Scientist Program, Summer Research Training Program/Schulich Research Opportunities Program, Resident Research - Career Development Program, Schulich - UWindsor Opportunities for Research Excellence Program, and the Clinician Investigator Program. She/he will report to the Vice Dean Research and Innovation and the Associate Deans Postgraduate and Undergraduate Medical Education.
Candidates for the Clinical Research Training Director position are expected to have experience, knowledge and commitment to clinical and translational research with progressive responsibilities and productivity in clinical investigation. Established leadership and team building capacities and a track record of sustained commitment are expected.
The successful candidate must already hold an academic appointment within the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the Associate Professor level or higher. She/he must hold a certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be certified to practice medicine in Ontario. This position will require a time commitment of two days per week for a five year term, once renewable.
