London Health Research Day showcases ground-breaking health research

London Health Research Day 2016 Recap

Hundreds of young researchers came together for London Health Research Day on March 29, in a celebration of health research and the ground-breaking work being done across the city of London.

More than 750 participants, judges and guests attended this year's event, representing medical labs from Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, including Robarts Research Institute, and Lawson Health Research Institute, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London. The research presented spanned all areas of health — cancer, aging, imaging, children’s health, surgical innovation, mental health and more.

Trainees and postdoctoral scholars presented poster and platform presentations, with a portion selected for judging. Congratulations to this year's award winners.

At lunch, attendees had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Peter Libby, The Lucille & Norton Wolf Health Research Lecture Series keynote speaker, who gave a talk on "Inflammation and Atherosclerosis: A Translational Tale". Attendees also had the opportunity to attend one of three workshops featuring a panel of expert industry leaders and faculty members offering insight and advice on a variety of topics.

The day was capped off by a wine and cheese awards reception to celebrate the achievements of all participants.

Thank you to everyone who made this day a success. Please enjoy an online photo slide show below featuring the day’s highlights.
