Guest Speakers:

Dr. Patricia Hewston

Dr. Hewston is a registered occupational therapist with a PhD in rehabilitation science. She is a research associate in the Department of Medicine and an assistant clinical professor (adjunct) in the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University. Her clinical research focuses on designing and evaluating new care models and technologies to enhance the lives of older adults.

Dr. Alexandra Papaioannou

Dr. Papaioannou is a Professor of Medicine (Division of Geriatrics) at McMaster University, a Geriatrician at Hamilton Health Sciences, Chair of the Regional Geriatrics Program Central, and Executive Director of the GERAS Centre for Aging Research. She holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Geriatric Medicine and Healthy Aging and is a Fellow of the Canadian Geriatrics Society. She was awarded the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Aging Betty Havens Prize for Knowledge Mobilization in Aging. Her research integrates geriatric medicine and rehabilitation, focusing on developing and evaluating new interventions and care models for frail older adults across hospital, community, and long-term care settings.
