St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital is a 120-bed acute care hospital located within 30 minutes drive of the London teaching hospitals. There are over 750 deliveries annually. Residents are introduced to Obstetrics and Gynecology as practiced in a peripheral setting. Residents can expect to attend between 40 and 60 deliveries and will be able to assist in a busy GYN O.R. Clinic experience may be possible. In hospital on-call facilities are available. One resident per month allows individualization of teaching and improves the resident's experience. This rotation best suits a PGY-1 or PGY-2 wishing to have an active role in Women's Health as part of their Family Practice.
Scheduling: Can take 1 resident/block.
