Hockey Fans in Training (Hockey FIT) receives CIHR funding
Dr. Robert Petrella and the entire Hockey Fans in Training (Hockey FIT) team are thrilled to announce that their recent grant application to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research was successful.
Dr. Robert Petrella (Nominated Principal Applicant, Professor – Family Medicine, Western University), Dr. Arya Sharma (Principal Applicant – Knowledge User, Scientific Director of the Canadian Obesity Network), and their entire team of Co-Applicants, Collaborators and Partners have been awarded $948,600 over 5 years for a project grant entitled: Hockey Fans in Training (Hockey FIT): A pragmatic cluster randomized controlled trial of a gender-sensitized weight loss and healthy lifestyle program for men who are overweight or obese.
Co-Applicants from the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine at Western University include: Dawn Gill PhD, Dr. Lisa Fischer, Shannon Sibbald PhD, and Dr. Merrick Zwarenstein.
