Victoria Family Medical Centre gets new director

After 12 years of service, Dr. Jo-Anne Hammond will step down from the role of Medical Director (Centre Director) at the Victoria Family Medical Centre (VFMC), effective March 1, 2016. The Department wishes to acknowledge and thank Dr. Hammond for her many years of service. She has been a significant influence on the life of VFMC and has guided the Centre through such important transitions as the adoption of electronic medical records and the integration into the Thames Valley Family Health Team. Dr. Hammond will continue her practice as a team leader of Team A at VFMC.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Stacey Valiquet will be the successor to the role. Dr. Valiquet is an Associate Professor in Family Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, and has been a clinical team leader at the Victoria Family Medical Centre since 2005, sharing the team leader duties on Team C since 2006. Dr. Valiquet has played a significant role in the VFMC's transition to Same Day Access scheduling and in the chart audit program through the Records and Quality of Care Committee.

Please welcome Dr. Stacey Valiquet to this important new role at the Victoria Family Medical Centre.
