Dr. Daniel Leger receives 2017 Team Williams Family Medicine Innovation Grant

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Leger on being selected to receive the 2017 Team Williams Family Medicine Innovation Grant for his work in founding The Family Medicine Study Guide.

The Team Williams Family Medicine Innovation Grant is made possible through generous donations from the Team Williams family and friends and the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) staff to the Foundation for Advancing Family Medicine (FAFM).

The award supports family physicians and family medicine residents in the creation and development of innovative medical IT projects in family medicine. Dave Williams, a former CFPC director of Information Technology, established this grant in memory of four members of the Williams family: his mother, Mary; his father, Bert; and his siblings Daniel and Janet. The grant recognizes innovators in family medicine and raises awareness of best practices across the country and beyond.

The Family Medicine Study Guide is a 'study buddy' for family medicine curriculums. The non-profit portable curriculum is written by physicians, and includes 65 original case studies, 312 short answer questions, 125 rapid fire questions and 25 "Quick Pix" dermatology cases with 82 related questions to help motivate, guide and assist learners in their studying.

Dr. Leger will be presented his award at the Awards Gala on Friday, November 10, during Family Medicine Forum 2017, November 8 - 11, in Montreal, Quebec.
