Strategic Plan

Communique on the Strategic Planning Process from Dr. James Calvin, Chair/Chief of the Department of Medicine - May 2014

The strategic planning process for the Department of Medicine is officially underway. Over the coming months, we will develop the Department’s decisive roadmap for the next five years. Our new Strategic Plan will deal with the realities of our environment while concentrating on what matters most – achieving excellence in clinical practice, education and research.

As part of our strategic planning process, we will develop our Department’s vision for the future and craft our key directions and goals. We will establish short and long‐term priorities and we will define what success means and how we will measure progress and performance. We will chart our future by engaging a broad range of stakeholders. Led by the DOM Guiding Coalition Committee, which includes department leaders and representatives of the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London we will ensure there are opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, reflection and communication throughout the process.

Information about the Department of Medicine Focus Groups can be found below. Receiving input from the perspective of faculty and residents in all stages of their career is an essential part of the process. As we move forward on this journey, we will provide you with more information on how to get involved and keep you updated through this webpage.
