Dr. Uday Deotare wins LHSC Patient Safety Champion Award

Congratulations to Dr. Uday Deotare for being awarded the 2023 LHSC Patient Safety Champion Award! This award, which recognizes and celebrates a physician or resident working at LHSC demonstrating a passion for and commitment to improving patient safety, was presented by LHSC leaders Tammy Quigley, Corporate Executive, and Sonia Pagura, Executive Director.

Dr. Deotare has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to patient safety as a physician lead for the C7 Oncology Unit Improvement Team and the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program Quality Committee. He initiated a Choosing Wisely inpatient study aimed at optimizing and reducing unnecessary blood work for autologous stem cell transplant patients. At the November 10, 2023 ceremony, the presentation concluded with, “Thank you Dr. Deotare for being such a fierce advocate for your patients.”
