Dr. Brahmania wins 2021 Canadian Association of Gastroenterology Young Scholar in Quality Innovation Award

Dr. Mayur Brahmania, Division of Gastroenterology, has won the 2021 Canadian Association of Gastroenterology Young Scholar in Quality Innovation Award.

A member of CQUINS, Dr. Mayur Brahmania, has won the 2021 Canadian Association of Gastroenterology Young Scholar in Quality Innovation Award. This national award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of gastroenterology through quality improvement initiatives and was awarded at the virtual Canadian Digestive Disease Week in March 2021 along with an invited presentation.

Quality improvement and patient safety has been a long-standing passion of Dr. Brahmania, from a residency project on inappropriate foley catheter usage to a more recent 3-year project reducing the length of stay in post-liver transplant patients. Notably, he also led the Choosing Wisely Canada (CWC) top five list campaign for Hepatology. His leadership played a pivotal role in London Health Sciences Centre receiving a CWC Level 3 designation.
