Celebrating and thanking donors for their support

Annual donations, multi-year pledges and estate gifts continue to make a difference, enriching student awards and bursaries and supporting the overall mission of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

This month, we celebrate and thank the following individuals for their thoughtful support:

Dr. James Purvis, MD ‘64, has generously donated $25,000 to establish the Dr. James H. Purvis Bursary in Medicine, which will award five $5,000 bursaries in the 2018-2019 academic year to students in the Doctor of Medicine Program at the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Campus.

Dr. Barry Davidson, MD’74 donated $8,000 to help establish an award for full-time Doctor of Medicine students who are participating in an international medical experience. This gift is a part of the University’s Global Opportunities Award matching program.

The Estate of Dr. Eleanor Jeanne Deinum, MD’55 has donated approximately $1.2 - $1.4 million and to the University. To date $1.1 million has been received. Dr. Deinum interned at Victoria Hospital in London, and she completed her psychiatric training at the University of Toronto.

The Estate of Dr. Elmer Butt, MD’43 has donated $540,000 to the University. To date $489,075 has been received. Dr. Butt was a noted Windsor diagnostic radiologist in the 1960s.
