The prestigious Collip Medal was established in 1959 and is presented annually to the outstanding PhD student graduating from one of the basic science programs in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. This award commemorates Dr. J.B. Collip, one of the former Deans of Medicine, for his contributions to Western and Canadian biomedical sciences. This award is based on the overall performance of a student during tenure at Western.
