Tara Condos and Dr. Stephanie Dorman win awards

Congratulations to the following Biochemistry students for winning awards:

  • Tara Condos, a PhD student in the Shaw lab, has been awarded the 2016 Drs. Madge and Charles Macklin Fellowship for Publication in Medical Sciences. This Fellowship is awarded to a doctoral student who publishes their research as a first author in a peer-reviewed journal. The title of Tara's paper is "Disruption of the autoinhibited state primes the E3 ligase parkin for activation and catalysis."
  • Dr. Stephanie Dorman, a PhD graduate from the Rogan lab, has been awarded the 2016 Dr. William Zaharia Award. This award is presented to a graduating student for excellence in the Biochemistry PhD Graduate Program. Stephanie will receive her diploma at Convocation on 16 June. Her PhD thesis is titled "Interpretation of Mutations, Expression, Copy Number in Somatic Breast Cancer: Implications for Metastasis and Chemotherapy."
