Biography:

Dr. Noyan received his degrees in Biology (BSc), Human Histology (MSc) and Anatomical Sciences (PhD) in Iran and worked as assistant professor of anatomical sciences. He then obtained a scholarship to learn fundamentals of biological clocks in Japan. After coming to Canada, he started his first postdoctoral training using mouse and rat models of aging and hypertension in the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology at the University of Saskatchewan. He subsequently did another post-doctoral training in cardiovascular pathology using mouse models of myocardial infarction, obesity, and diabetes in the Toronto General Research Institute (TGRI), followed by a period of serving as scientific associate in the same institution. He also spent some time working in the Laboratory of Lipid Research, Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, Saint Michael’s Hospital, Toronto.
He also served as a part-time assistant professor in anatomical sciences in the Division of Anatomy, Department of Surgery, University of Toronto and limited-term assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biology, Faculty of Science, at Toronto Metropolitan (Formerly Ryerson) University before joining Western University.
