Announcement: Hematology fellow earns AMS Fellowship in Compassion and Artificial Intelligence

Dr. Ben Chin-Yee, Clinical Fellow in the Division of Hematology at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, was named among the 2020 AMS Healthcare Fellows in Compassion and Artificial Intelligence.

AMS Healthcare has named 11 individuals from across various disciplines as recipients of the newly-established fellowship. AMS Healthcare is a non-for-profit healthcare organization supporting innovation in medicine and health care through various funding initiatives.

As part of the one-year fellowship, AMS Healthcare provides funding up to $75,000 for early and mid-career researchers and health care professionals to study the impact of digital technology and artificial intelligence on compassionate health care. Dr. Chin-Yee’s research will explore the impact of genomics and AI on health equity and compassionate care in oncology.

“AMS wants to ensure that healthcare remains compassionate in an era of emerging and disruptive technologies.” said CEO Gail Paech. “The work of these trailblazers will be critical in that pursuit.”
