Announcement: Learner Equity & Wellness Office changes name to serve learners
Effective October 2, the Learner Equity & Wellness (LEW) Office at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry will be renamed to Learner Experience.
The decision to change the Office name comes after consultation and feedback from faculty, staff, students and School leadership. Stakeholder groups shared that there has been ongoing confusion around the role of the Office. Specific feedback indicated the Office name to be misleading. Further, the name didn’t align with an expanding focus of the work of the team.
The Office’s new name Learner Experience encompasses the full focus of the team and is well aligned with the language used by the University and is more easily understood.
During the next few weeks, the Office signage and administrative will be updated. The Learner Experience office website has been updated, and you can learn more about their work online.
