Western University to host the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) Annual General Meeting

Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry will be hosting the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) Annual General Meeting in September 2015.

The AGM will take place at the School’s Windsor campus, which is the first distributed education site to host the meeting. The theme is Leadership in the Clinic and Community.

The CFMS AGM is hosted annually by a selected Canadian medical school, and involves medical students from across the country.

“Having the AGM at our School will provide students with a great opportunity to learn about ongoing initiatives and news from across the country,” said Yousif Atwan, Medicine Class of 2017 and chair of the Bid Committee. “Students will spend three days integrating their knowledge, awareness and creativity in tackling issues related to Canadian medical education and health professions.”

This is the third bid from the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Program to host the AGM. Student leaders worked hard to make this year’s submission a success.

“It’s an incredible victory after the efforts that have been put forth by everyone involved,” said Atwan.

Congratulations to all involved who worked to make this exciting event happen. More details and information to come in the new year.
