Global Corporate Challenge

The Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) is under way for 2017!

The GCC makes living a healthy and active life easy and fun to do by taking teams of 7 members on an exciting 100-day virtual journey around the world. More than 1000 organizations (including over 50 other educational institutions) and 370,000 participants from 185 countries around the world participate in the GCC!

How does it work? It's all about finding fun and creative ways to add steps and activities into your day. Participants received a great device - a GCC Pulse - that tracks their progress. The steps they rack up all count toward their team's virtual journey around the world. Individuals have the freedom to earn their steps alone or with their team, or both.

This initiative is all about personal wellness. It is a fun way to challenge yourself no matter where you are at. You may be moving toward that goal of 10,000 steps a day, or training for your next triathalon. Just taking the stairs instead of the elevator, getting off the bus two stops earlier, or biking to work all add up to active living. Only you will know your numbers.

The majority of Western participants last year reported decreased stress levels, improved productivity and concentration, increased sleep, and definitely an increase in steps per day!

We encourage everyone to participate. The cost to participate is $100 per team member. Western Central will cover 50% of the team registration fee, with the team paying the rest. The Wellness Committee is pleased to sponsor the first 7 Schulich teams who register.
