The UBC Medical Journal is a student-organized academic journal striving to engage students in dialogue in medicine.
The Journal is now accepting high-quality submissions for the Fall 2017 issue. The theme of the issue is Precision Medicine. From fundamentals to practice, pharmacogenomics to the microbiome and companion diagnostics, this issue aims to explore the challenges and opportunities of this emerging field. This issue will help identify areas of health care that could benefit from precision medicine advances. This field of research is becoming increasingly relevant for medical students and physicians alike; the future of clinical practice rests upon providing high-quality patient-centred care, and medicine that is truly personalized will sit at the heart of it.
Submissions are being accepted in the following categories: Academic Research, Reviews, Commentaries, News and Letters, and Case and Elective Reports.
*Submissions that do not fall into the theme are also accepted
The submission deadline of the Fall 2017 issue is March 11, 2017. Submissions can be made via the online submission system.
To encourage and recognize high quality writing, the UBCMJ Distinguished Writing Award, with a $250 honorarium, will be awarded to the strongest article submitted in the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 issues.
