GENERAL OVERVIEW

Meeting the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons training objectives, the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry offers postgraduate training opportunities through SWOMEN to Schulich residents.  Information on opportunities in the Windsor area can be found within the Windsor PGE Rotations section.  These rotations provide learners with opportunities to experience learning, living ad working in Southwestern Ontario.

Reimbursement for travel and funding for accommodation is provided for rotations of a minimum of 4 weeks in length.  Many communities have accommodation available to our residents in designated apartments or houses.  It is our goal to make your experiece the best possible!

SWOMEN communities provide a low teacher-learner ratio and offer a more hands-on learning experience.  Nine SWOMEN Academic Directors located and working in our communities ensure you receive the Best Student Experience - Please click on the listed specialties for more information about the opportunities available.

SPECIALTIES

Family Medicine rotations are widely offered in many smaller, rural centres through the Department of Family Medicine.  SWOMEN funded PGY3 rotations are available in Geriatrics, Palliative Care and Hospitalist.

** There are many more specialty and sub-specialty rotation opportunities available.  For example, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pathology, Respirology, Plastic Surgery, Oncology, ENT, and many other specialties. Please feel free to contact us to inquire about these and/or any other speciality or sub-specialty rotations.
