Internal Medicine
During your training you’ll have an opportunity to visit us and see a different side of GIM. You get to choose a community in the surrounding area and see how we practice the breadth of GIM from office based clinics to taking care of patients in an ICU.
Your rotation with us provides an opportunity to develop comprehensive approaches to common internal medicine problems or, for more senior trainees, to consolidate consultative skills. We provide a dynamic mix of both ambulatory and inpatient care with a focus on the former during GIM rotation.
The SWOMEN experience provides a low teacher-student ratio to allow us to tailor the experience based on individual abilities and give a more hands on role. It fosters opportunities to explore medical decision making. You’ll see amazing pathology. Working within health care teams in a community setting, you are exposed to a wide variety of services and alternative models of the General Internal Medicine role.
You get to work in a community setting during at least one block of your training and we welcome you to visit with us for electives as well.
