Dr, Michael Rieder re-appointed assistant dean, Undergraduate Wellness

Dr. Michael Rieder has been re-appointed as Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Wellness, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective from January 1, 2013 to June 30, 2016.

Dr. Rieder completed his MD at the University of Saskatchewan in 1980 and completed his residency training in paediatrics the Children's Hospital of Michigan, Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He received his PhD in Biomedical Pharmacology from the University of Toronto in 1992. In 1985, he joined the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario as an Assistant Professor to the Departments of Paediatrics, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University. Dr. Rieder's previous administrative experience includes Acting Assistant Dean, Student Affairs (2009, 2011-2012), Chair, Section of Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology (1995 - present), and Program Leader, Clinical Investigation Program (2001-present).

Dr. Rieder currently holds the CIHR-GSK Endowed Chair in Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology. Dr. Rieder was the recipient of the Harvard Macy Scholar Award (1996), the Douglas Bocking Award (1996), Teacher of the Year Award, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry (1999 and 2000), and a Faculty Scholar, Western University (2009).
