Acting Chair for Anatomy & Cell Biology appointed

Kem Rogers has been appointed as Acting Chair of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, effective January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011.
Rogers received his Ph.D. in Anatomy (Histology) from the University of Toronto in 1984. Following completion of postdoctoral studies at the Harvard Medical School in 1986, he was appointed as Assistant Professor within the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology at The University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Rogers has trained more than 20 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and has published in over 60 publications. His research interests involve the study of cardiovascular disease. Currently his work is focused on the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to examine both atherosclerosis and aortic valve sclerosis.
Dr. Rogers’ previous administrative experience includes serving as Graduate Program Chair within the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology and as Associate Dean, Basic Medical Sciences Undergraduate Education.
