Call for Nominations - Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education

The Dean's Office at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, has commenced the selection process for the position of Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education.

The Associate Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) is the senior Faculty Officer responsible for the overall excellence in the educational experience of all Postgraduate Medical Education within Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and coordinating the development of new training initiatives that may arise. The person in this role must provide leadership in all matters of postgraduate medical education in order to maintain the accreditation standards defined by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and the College of Family Physicians in Canada (CFPC) and administratively for ensuring excellence in all aspects of postgraduate medical education within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

A major responsibility of the position is the development of postgraduate residency training programs at all Schulich sites and the maintenance of established programs at the highest level of educational excellence. The Associate Dean PGME represents Schulich Medicine & Dentistry to a variety of external bodies whose mandates include regulation, certification, standard setting, and the provision of funding. There are currently over 750 postgraduate residents and fellows training in 49 postgraduate programs at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry.

The application packages for candidates will be considered by an Advisory Committee, who will carry out interviews of selected applications, and a make a recommendation for appointment to the Dean.
