Visiting Scholar - Dr. Vicki LeBlanc

June 1 2010, 7:30-8:30am, LHSC-UH Auditorium B

Training to become a health professional and the practice of health care delivery are activities that contain significant stressors for individuals. Despite a recognized link between job stress and mental health, there has been little research on the impact of acute stress on clinical learning and performance. The aim of this presentation is to review representative research focused on both the positive and negative effects of acute stress responses (subjective and physiological) on performance and learning. The implications of this research on health professions education will also be explored. Further information is available at http://www.schulich.uwo.ca/ceri/documents/CERI Visiting Scholar LeBlanc.pdf
