United Way Update - November 14 is Early Bird Deadline

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Make sure your pledge is returned by November 14 to be eligible for wonderful prizes including two tickets to any Air Canada destination in North America. Check out the prizes at http://unitedway.uwo.ca/prizes.htm. Please return your pledge envelopes to Joan Estabrooks in MSB M138.

Other Activities:

Hospitality Services' "Coffee Day for the United Way" was a huge success across campus raising over $1500 for the United Way. The Tim Hortons outlet in the Medical Sciences Building was definitely the place to be on Monday. "Celebrity pourers" John Ruicci, and Drs. Chris Ellis, Francis Chan, Kem Rogers and Stephen Sims enthusiastically volunteered behind the counter selling 114 travel cups and hundreds of cups of coffee in just 2.5 hours.

On November 6th teams from Schulich tackled the 25 flights of stairs at One London Place during the annual United Way "Stair Trek". Kudos to all the team members who raised over $2500 in pledges. The staff/faculty team came out on top for our friendly challenge but many thanks to the BMSc and Meds students who also took part.

Congratulations to Steven Beasley, graduate student in Biochemistry, who won the tickets to see Dr. David Suzuki at the "Suduko for Suzuki" challenge on Wednesday.

Remember...without you, there would be no way!
