Dr. Thomas Lacroix re-appointed

Dr. Lacroix graduated from John Abbot College in 1988 with a Health Sciences Diploma and completed his PhD in 1993 at McGill University. From 1993-1997 he finished his Paediatric Residency Training at Montreal's Children's Hospital, McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He worked as a Neonatal Fellow/Clinical Assistant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph's Health Care from 1997-1998. As an Adjunct Professor in Paediatrics, from 2000-2006, Dr. Lacroix acted as a corresponding member of the Paediatric Postgraduate Education Committee at the University of Western Ontario and was promoted to Assistant Professor in Paediatrics in 2006. Since 2004 Dr. Lacroix has been a member of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry Decanal Group as the Assistant Dean of Rural and Regional Medicine.

Dr. Lacroix represents Schulich on the Association of Faculties Medicine (AFMC) Academic Leaders' Group for the Social Accountability initiative. His commitment to social responsibility and community engagement is reflected in his work to improve health human resources and equitable access and distribution of physicians. Dr. Lacroix has been passionate about the "MEDQuest Health Career Exploration Camps" he developed to encourage geographically underrepresented students to enter health professions. The camps have also impacted on the number of Schulich students choosing Family Medicine as a career.
