Psychiatry clerkship is a six week rotation divided into three 2-week blocks. It is designed to provide exposure to psychiatric conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This includes four weeks in core rotations and a two week selective (please see Year 2 page for list of choices).
At 8:30 am on the first day of your Psychiatry rotation, there is an orientation session at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital. Windsor and DEN clerks will receive a separate orientation schedule. Please allow yourself enough time for parking. Also ensure you have your hospital identification as your card is needed to access the inpatient units at LHSC.
Clinical clerks are expected to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team participating in the care of inpatients and outpatients. During the rotation, clinical clerks will also participate in overnight emergency call. Clerks are to attend educational sessions outlined in the weekly schedules issued at the psychiatry orientation session. Throughout the rotation, clinical clerks must complete the various evaluations.
Please ensure that you keep your Meds 5207 Lecture material, as it is a required resource for Year 3 Psychiatry Clerkship.
