Dr. John Barrett

Dr. John Barrett (PhD) is a virologist who received his PhD from the University of Alberta and did post doctoral training within the federal government research laboratories in northern Ontario, at the University of Guelph, and the Institut Armand-Frappier specializing in viral immunology and pathogenesis of dsDNA viruses.  He managed the viral laboratory of the Biotherapeutics Research Group at Robarts Research Institute for 10 years. He is now a member of the Translational Head and Neck Cancer Research Group and is interested in the role of human papillomavirus in head and neck cancers, development and testing of viral oncolytics, and using tumor genetic profiles to develop novel treatment strategies.
