The minimum level of financial assistance provided to domestic MSc students in Microbiology & Immunology is $18,000. This level may be increased to $20,000 with receipt of an FW Luney Graduate Fellowship to new qualifying students.

International MSc and PhD students will receive higher levels of financial assistance that compensate for the higher rates of international tuition. Details are available upon inquiry.
Financial assistance levels increase when a student is awarded a scholarship (see examples in chart). In this way, academic achievement is rewarded with financial incentives. We strive to ensure that our graduate students are as competitive as possible for scholarship funding and our success rate is high. Students are encouraged to apply for these awards annually through the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (External Scholarships).
MSc students in good standing are guaranteed financial support for up to 6 terms. PhD students in good standing are guaranteed financial support for up to 12 terms. Students who transfer from the MSc to the PhD program are guaranteed financial support for up to 15 terms. Beyond the guaranteed funding periods continued funding is at the discretion of the supervisor.
Graduate students in the Microbiology & Immunology program are eligible to apply for internal awards from our own program as well as the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.
