Title of Talk:High clinical impact abdominal MRI:Present and Future

Biography:

Dr. Anish Kirpalani is a staff radiologist, Head of the Abdominal Imaging division and Co-Director of MRI at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He is an Associate Scientist at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael's Hospital and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto.

He is the author of over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and has given over 35 invited lectures nationally and internationally, predominantly in the fields of abdominal and cardiovascular MRI. He has received multiple teaching awards from the University of Toronto radiology residency and fellowship programs, and hosts an annual accredited MRI conference for radiologists.

He leads a grant-funded abdominal MRI research program at the Canada Foundation for Innovation-funded St. Michael's MRI Research Centre. He holds undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering, respectively, from the University of Toronto. He completed medical school at McMaster University, residency in radiology at the University of Toronto and fellowship in Body MRI at Northwestern University in Chicago.
