Western's upgrade to Version 8 of Cascade was successfully completed yesterday morning, April 9, 2017.
ITS has already heard many positive comments about this new version of Cascade but any time an application is upgraded and the user interface is changed, there will be a bit of a learning curve. As you start to work with the new release, please refer to the updated Cascade User Manual and the documentation on ITS's Web Content Management web page first and if that does not provide you with an answer contact the Schulich Helpdesk:

Western's ITS is upgrading to CASCADE 8 on April 9. The maintenance window is 6 am to 12 pm. During this time Cascade will be unavailable. Please do not attempt to log in.
The upgrade will have an impact on all users of the CASCADE System and all individuals managing a Schulich Medicine & Dentistry website as the "look" of Version 8 is quite different from the current version and some functions have changed. A new version of the Cascade User Manual has been created. Western ITS has also provided documentation which can be viewed on their Web Content Management web page. Please review the revised user manual and/or the Web Content Management page to familiarize yourself with the changes.
If after reviewing the manual or web page you feel you would benefit from a demonstration of the new system you are welcome to register for one. Eight (8) one hour demos of the new system will be held during the weeks of March 27th and April 3rd. They are designed to show current users how to navigate in the upgraded version and are not a "refresher" training session. The sessions will be held in room M150A, Medical Sciences Building and will be limited to 20 people per session.
You can register using the form below:
Information Services reserves the right to cancel any demo session that has fewer than 10 participants.
As always, if you would like a refresher training course you can register using the Cascade Access and Training form. The next session is April 11th.
