I am pleased to announce Dr. Donald Farquhar has been re-appointed as Assistant Dean, Resident Wellbeing, Learner Equity and Wellness at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022.
Dr. Farquhar obtained his medical degree in 1982 from Queen’s University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Respirology at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. In 1993, he received an RS McLaughlin Fellowship for a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Management, Quality of Care, at the Harvard School of Public Health. He is currently appointed as a Professor in the Department of Medicine at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry.
Dr. Farquhar was the recipient of the Medical Advisory Committee’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to London Health Sciences Centre in 2007, and was named to Western’s University Student Council Honour Roll for Teaching in 2010. He has served as Chair of the Network for Education in Care at the End of Life for the Associated Medical Services of Ontario from 2009 to 2011, and as Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of General Internal Medicine from 2011 to 2013. He is currently Chair of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada Network on Postgraduate Affairs.
