Message from Kelly Gutpell

With the winter finally over, the members of the Graduate Students Council are looking forward to a great summer at the School.

The past few months have been busy. A number of exciting events took place in this past term and we hope to see this trend continue.

London Health Research Day (LHRD) received a makeover this year, and the exciting changes will surely benefit this event for years to come. The revamped schedule of LHRD allowed for more presentations and increased networking opportunities for colleagues and industry partners. The day showcased the plethora of research going on at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and illustrated the value of the event to trainees.

The Inaugural All-Schulich Science Trivia Night hosted in collaboration by graduate and medical students was another successful event held during March. This sold-out event, the first of its kind to bring together graduate and medical students, raised more than $1,000 for the Children’s Health Foundation. Thank you to all of those that were in attendance; we look forward to seeing you at the next School-wide event.

Our main focus during the summer will be to increase communication with you. We are interested in hearing your feedback on all matters regarding your graduate school experience. You may contact either your department graduate representative, or me. Our council has the fortunate ability to speak on behalf of all Schulich Medicine & Dentistry graduate students, so your feedback is greatly encouraged. Please visit our new webpage for contact information.

On behalf of the Graduate Student Council, all the best for a safe and happy summer. I look forward to hearing back from you in the months to come!

Kelly
