The Global Health Advisory Committee

The Global Health Advisory Committee advises the Director on logistical Issues involving Office function, prioritization of various roles, teaching, and administration involving international work, EcoHealth and marginalized communities. It meets quarterly to prioritize objectives and activities within the resources available and provides short-term and longer term direction. It also gives direction on collaboration and committee representation to external groups and institutions, balancing needs of Windsor, dentistry, health sciences, medical residents, grad students, and research as well as its priority: undergraduate medical students.

International Partnerships Committee

The Global Health International Partnerships Committee aims to facilitate direct institutional links between SSMD-UWO and other institutions and organizations around the world engaged in global health work/research and training.

It is directed at logistical issues of international collaboration with partner institutions, as well as developing guidelines for overseas training and research and bringing students, residents, clinicians and researchers to UWO. It also advises the director on the nature of new community based projects, including methods of engaging the communities, developing situation-specific health indicators, and institutional relations.

International Advisory Panel

The International Advisory Panel convenes electronically two to four times per year and is available for email consultation. This panel is similar in function to the International Partnerships Committee

Overseas Elective Advisory Committee

The OEC will be a joint faculty and student led initiative that evaluates and supports the development of the student experience of overseas electives at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. The goals of the committee are to ensure student experiences are well supported and as safe as possible for the student, patients, and programs through student training and policy development.

Global Health Funding Committee

The purpose of the GHFC is to increase students' awareness and learning of global health, as well as directly contribute to global health. Projects that will appeal to the GHFC will be results-driven initiatives that impact medically under-serviced areas of the world and/or contribute to the education of the student, global health at the Schulich School of Medicine &Dentistry, and the field of global health in general.
