Celebrating our Achievement: Erin Shellington, PhD

Erin Shellington, a PhD student in Kinesiology under the supervision of Dr. Rob Petrella, successfully defended her PhD thesis on November 6. Her thesis is entitled: The feasibility of Square-stepping exercise as a universal intervention for older adults with chronic disease to improve cognitive and physical function. Throughout her PhD she was advised by Dawn Gill, PhD and Dr. Sonja Reichert in the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine, and Matt Heath, PhD in Kinesiology.

Erin has accepted a post doctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia supervised by Shannon Bredin, PhD and Darren Warburton, PhD beginning early 2018; she will be funded by Mitacs Elevate in partnership with the Health and Fitness Society of British Columbia.
