Enhancing Collaboration between Primary Care and Public Health seminar

The Enhancing Collaboration between Primary Care and Public Health seminar held on February 11, 2015 was a great success.

Dean Strong introduced the session, and MPH students, Family Medicine residents, faculty and staff members participated in this interactive seminar, facilitated by Dr. Ruta Valaitis, McMaster University and Dr. Tom Freeman. Dr. Valaitis’ presentation focused on differing viewpoints about collaboration, including system driven collaborators, cautious collaborators, and competent isolationists. Understanding and managing these different viewpoints is important in building and maintaining Primary Care and Public Health collaborations.
