Dr. Cathy Faulds named Chief Clinical Lead in the South West LHIN

Named as the new Chief Clinical Lead in the South West LHIN, faculty member Dr. Cathy Faulds is tasked with advancing high-quality, coordinated, patient-focused health care.

In her new role she will be providing clinical leadership and strategic direction to advance engagement among partners, clinical standards implementation, patient safety and quality improvement.

Dr. Faulds will lead a team of LHIN primary care and specialty clinical leaders to improve clinical coordination and achieve quality improvement within LHIN sub-regions.

“I am very excited to take on the role as Chief Clinical Lead,” said Dr. Faulds. “I look forward to working with South West LHIN, Health Quality Ontario and other health system partners to ensure patients in the LHIN have access to a high quality and coordinated health care system.”

Dr. Faulds brings 30 years of experience in comprehensive family medicine working in various models of care including hospital and long-term care, as well as providing expertise in palliative care. She has led the development of a 20-bed palliative care unit at Parkwood Hospital, and during the course of her career, served as President Elect, President and Past President of the Ontario College of Family Physicians. She also served on the Board of Directors for the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the London Family Health Team.

Dr. Faulds currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. She has been the recipient of many awards including the Bright Light Award for Leadership in Governance from the Association of Family Teams of Ontario in 2016, and the Dean’s Award of Excellence in 2014.
