Dr. Guangyong Zou

Dr.Zou

As a biostatistician, I focus on developing and evaluating statistical methods that are useful for medical research, within the context of the following substantive areas:

  • Cluster randomization trials;
  • Patient reported outcomes;
  • Inter-rater agreement/reliability;
  • Health-related quality of life;
  • Prospective epidemiological studies.

What is your current position?

A Professor focusing on statistical methods for correlated data. In addition, I am currently appointed as the Acting Chair for the department.

What is your Educational background?

  • BSc Agronomy, Southwest University, China
  • MSc Soil Science, McGill University, Canada
  • MSc Statistics, University of Connecticut, USA
  • PhD Plant Science, University of Connecticut, USA
  • PhD Biostatistics, University of Western Ontario, Canada

Why did you choose to become a member of the Western University Faculty?

Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western makes my biostatistical research highly relevant to medical research. I get satisfaction from seeing my statistical methods being used to address important medical research questions.
