November 24, 2016 Dr. Martin, an assistant professor in the departments of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, as well as MEDICI Director, is one of two project leads on the recently designated World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre.

September 30, 2016 Join our department in congratulating Dr. Vladimir Hachinski on being awarded the Royal Society of Canada’s prestigious McLaughlin Medal. A Distinguished University Professor of Neurology at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and a Lawson Health Research Institute Scientist, he is also a Cross-Appointed Professor with the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Dr. Hachinski is a co-supervisor of PhD Candidate, Josh Cerasuolo, along with Dr. Lauren Cipriano and Dr. Neil Klar.

September 15, 2016 Please join our department in congratulating Dr. Anita Kothari and Dr. Charles Weijer for being named among the nation’s top scholars in the arts, humanities and sciences by the Royal Society of Canada. Dr. Anita Kothari is an Associate Professor with the School of Health Studies and the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics (Cross). Dr. Weijer is a Professor and the Canada Research Chair in Bioethics, with appointments in the Department of Philosophy, Medicine (joint), and Epidemiology and Biostatistics (cross). Also, he is currently a co-supervisor for Jasmine Tung, MSc Candidate, along with Dr. K.Speechley.

April 08, 2016 In January, an agreement was reached with the Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA). The new agreement was ratified by the GTA Union on January 18 and by Western University’s Board of Governors on January 28. The new agreement is effective as of September 1, 2015.
